Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the cost of your mental health care before you begin services.

As a healthcare provider who does not participate in all insurance networks and offers self-pay services, Cages to Wings Wellness, LLC is required by the No Surprises Act (2022) to provide this estimate in writing.

What This Means for You

If you are not using insurance (or are choosing to pay privately), you are entitled to:

A written estimate of expected costs for services
This estimate before your first scheduled session
An estimate that includes all reasonably expected charges for the services you may receive
The right to ask questions or request changes before you agree to care

When You’ll Receive a GFE

You’ll get a Good Faith Estimate:

Automatically before your first appointment, if you are not using insurance
Upon request, at any time—even if you haven’t booked a session yet

The estimate is not a bill and does not lock you into services. It’s meant to help you plan ahead and make informed decisions about your care.

These are base service rates. Your personalized Good Faith Estimate will reflect the total expected cost of care, including the frequency of sessions and any applicable Hawai‘i GET or administrative processing fees. You'll have a chance to review and ask questions before beginning services.

Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can:

Dispute the bill through a formal patient-provider dispute resolution process
File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
